Hasselblad Heroine
Hasselblad is one of the world's most respected camera manufacturers. Each year, as part of their Heroines program, they select a group of women photographers from around the world to share their creative perspectives. As a 2026 recipient, I will share five new series and an inside look at the ideas, experimentation, and creative process behind them.
About Haley
The rural Midwest will always be home. Time moves differently here, and it's just enough to spark a curious mind.
After earning a BFA in Graphic Design and Photography from Minnesota State University Moorhead, I built a career in product design, where I currently lead a team in the aviation industry. Alongside that work, I pursue fine art as an experimental, curiosity-driven practice.
Every project begins with a question. Through experimentation, I follow that curiosity, allowing the process to reveal the answer.
Series One
How does time change perception?
Woven, 2026
Woven explores the relationship between control and unpredictability. Each image begins as a carefully constructed arrangement before smoke, motion, and gravity introduce elements I can't fully control. Inspired by the visual language of scanography, the series stretches a single photographic moment into something that feels suspended in time, revealing extraordinary detail while transforming familiar subjects into something unexpected.
